Aw, that's a cute story. It's funny that you unintentionally came up with an ingenious way of hitting on girls yourself.

Ha! You guys are the best. I mean, when it comes to saying ridiculous things girls aren't used to, I'm like Cal Ripken, Jr. I always show up. So if that's a good thing, well, then, that's good.

Also, this is I think the fourth phone number-getting experience I've written about on this blog (let me think: click, I like talking about emotions, would you like to go on a date with me - yep, it's the fourth one), but unfortunately those girls chose to pursue other opportunities. Which, hey, that's fine.

Actually, wait. Two of them chose other opportunities. I never got to call one of them because I couldn't manage to actually get her phone number all the way saved in my phone before I walked away. So I guess we'll never know about that one.

I'm not kidding, everyone who is my friend, make me delete your number and re-enter you into my phone the next time I see you. Don't forget!

Nice work. But here's the trick: you went in with a different attitude. Women get hit on all the time and therefore are guarded when in that situation. You have 15-seconds to shine and then your fate is set. But since you approached her without hitting on her, she wasn't 'on guard,' and therefore more open to you. Good move.

I think you've chanced upon a winning strategy: girls love it when guys call themselves out on the whole thing. Guys' egos are such fortresses that if you just admit that you don't know what to say, you have An Edge.

'Course, your writing skills don't hurt. I hope you distribute this URL along with your number...
